Cut straight through the middle, this molar model shows tooth decay eating down from the chewing surface toward the nerve. The crown is pitted and crumbling with a rough cavity that breaks through the outer enamel into the dentin, and inside you can follow the pulp chamber with its branching vessels down into two long roots. Layer lines along the cut face make each tissue easy to point out. It works well in a dental office, a health class or a biology classroom.
