A walking spoonbill sculpted in a mid-stride wading pose, with its long flat-tipped bill lowered ahead of its body. The bird carries a crest of rounded plume locks at the back of the head and layered folded wing feathers along its back. Long jointed legs end in four-toed feet, one planted forward and one trailing behind. Fine feather texture covers the breast and neck, and the eye and nostril groove are cleanly defined. It makes a fine display piece for a shelf or desk, and a good classroom subject for lessons on wading birds, wetland wildlife or bird anatomy.
