Lined with waving cilia across its top, this airway epithelium block shows the inside lining of the human respiratory tract. One face is cut away to reveal a full cell interior: a large nucleus, stacked membranes, oval mitochondria and small vesicles. Neighbouring columnar cells stand side by side with oval nuclei and tight junction clips, while a woven layer of fibers and basal cells forms the floor.
