A leopard tortoise striding forward with a tall, pyramid-shaped dome, each scute stacked with raised concentric ridges that give the shell its stepped look. The legs are thick and elephantine, covered in heavy round scales, with blunt nails on every foot. A small, alert head with crinkled skin pokes out from under the front rim. It works as a striking display sculpture for any reptile fan or as a biology model showing how desert tortoises build their armor.
