Two pairs of short spike horns crown the head of this four-horned antelope, also known as the chousingha, caught mid-stride with large ears raised. The slender body has a fine, rough coat texture, a rounded rump and a small upturned tail. Thin legs end in delicate split hooves, and the head is carried high with an alert, gentle expression. With no base, the figure stands freely, making an unusual biology classroom model, a natural history shelf piece, or part of an Indian forest and grassland diorama.
