Lumbering forward on stout clawed legs, this giant armored mammal is sculpted mid-stride beneath a towering domed shell. The glyptodon carapace is covered in a dense pattern of rosette-like bony plates, while a small armored cap protects the blunt head peeking out at the front. Behind, a tapering tail wrapped in overlapping rings of armor stretches out, and the heavy feet show chunky toes and claws. With no base needed, it stands on its own and makes a fine addition to a prehistoric animal display shelf, an Ice Age diorama or a classroom lesson on extinct megafauna.
