A norovirus capsid cutaway opens one side of the round virus particle to expose the coiled RNA genome inside. The outer surface bristles with knobbly protruding P domain spikes, a smoother shell domain layer lines the opening, and thick looping strands of genome fill the hollow core. The rough, clustered texture gives the model a strong organic feel.
