Opened along its length, this human large intestine model reveals the inner folds of the colon from cecum to rectum. The outer wall bulges in rounded haustra pouches, the small appendix hangs from the cecum, and the cutaway exposes ridged interior walls winding through the ascending, transverse and descending sections down into the sigmoid colon and rectum. The ribbed texture makes every segment easy to identify. It works well in an anatomy classroom, a digestive health lesson or on a medical display shelf where the whole route of the colon can be traced by hand.
