Enigma cipher machine with its hinged lid propped open on two support arms. The inner lid carries a ribbed instruction plate with lettering, patch cables and clips, and a row of small bulbs along the top edge. Below sit three rotor slots with a lever, rows of round-topped keys on stems, and a front panel crowded with plugboard sockets and plugs. A latch plate and rounded corners finish the case, and the base is flat and solid. It suits a history classroom, a museum style display shelf or a collector desk.
