Sweeping in a broad arch, this corpus callosum model shows the great bridge of nerve fibers linking the two halves of the brain. Hundreds of fluted strands fan outward from the smooth central band like a crest, many ending in open tube tips, while a thick descending tract drops beneath it with a smaller branching bundle at its side.
