An oligodendrocyte glial cell reaches out with thin branching processes, each one wrapping a segment of myelin sheath around one of three separate axons. The round cell body with its raised nucleus sits at the center, while the smooth sleeves of myelin form neat cylinders with narrow gaps between them along each axon. Clean, organic and easy to read, it shows how one cell insulates several nerve fibers. A good fit for a neuroscience classroom, a lab desk or a science display shelf.
