Walking straight toward you, this American mastodon carries two straight forward tusks beside a long, ringed trunk. A low, flat skull, small rounded ears and a stocky, heavy body sit on thick pillar legs with broad padded feet. Wrinkles and fine folds texture the hide from head to flank, and the brow is furrowed above small eyes. It makes a fine paleontology teaching model for comparing Ice Age elephants, a centerpiece for a prehistoric mammal shelf, or a majestic beast on a table.
