A Picasso tadpole from bioelectric research on frog development, this figure shows a face rebuilt in the wrong places. Bulging eyes sit far out on the sides of the wide head, the mouth and jaw lie skewed, and two long feelers hang below, while bumpy, studded skin covers the body and a tall finned tail rises behind. It is a strange, memorable creature with a real science story. Great for a biology classroom, a regeneration or developmental biology talk, or a curiosity shelf.
