Watch a chromosome come undone in one flowing piece, from the familiar X shape to a bare DNA double helix. The textured X-shaped chromosome at one end loosens into a looping coiled fiber, then into a short string of bead-like nucleosomes wrapped in banded strands, and finally into an open ladder of paired rungs twisting away. Every stage of DNA packaging reads clearly from left to right. An excellent teaching model for genetics lessons, or a striking conversation piece for a science shelf.
