Star-shaped hanging ornament with an openwork frame, made for the Christmas tree. A fluted cap and small loop sit at the top point, and a round boss at the center anchors five leaf-shaped rays. Curling scrolls and fleur-de-lis style flourishes fill the spaces between the rays, and a thick rounded border holds everything together. The sculpt is carved on both faces, so it looks finished from either side. Hang it from a branch, a window or a wreath, or set it on a shelf as a holiday display piece.
