A dug-in trench section built for First World War tabletop battles, with stacked sandbag parapets lining both rims. Inside, horizontal plank revetments hold back the rough earthen walls, upright log posts and a crossbeam brace the cut, and a long run of duckboards covers the floor. One end has a firing step bench and a leaning wooden ladder for climbing over the top, while a helmet rests on the boards. Solid earth packs the block below, so it sits flat as a piece of battlefield scenery for wargames or a diorama of the Western Front.
