A wooden mangonel-style siege engine built from rough timber logs lashed into a sturdy A-frame on a rectangular base. A long straight throwing arm swings from the top of the frame, with a short rear arm, pull ropes and a hanging sling pouch tied at its tip. Rope bindings, axle logs and small wooden pegs give the frame a believable handmade look. It makes a strong centrepiece for a medieval siege diorama, a castle assault on the wargaming table, or a display shelf of historical war machines, and the open frame lets you see how the whole mechanism fits together.
