Riveted iron hull ribs run the length of this H L Hunley style hand cranked submarine, finished with twin hatches and a spoked bow cap. A long side rail runs along the hull, a hinged hatch lid stands open on the deck, and rows of rivets follow every rib. At the stern sit twin propellers, a flat rudder plate and a frame of slender rods and braces. The underside is a solid, closed hull. It suits a display shelf, a naval history collection or a Civil War tabletop game as a detailed Confederate submarine.
