Here is a detailed model of the TBF Avenger torpedo bomber, the sturdy carrier plane of the Second World War. The long framed greenhouse canopy runs along the spine to a rear ball turret, while the round radial engine cowling and three-blade propeller lead the nose. Underneath sit the deep fuselage with its bomb bay, a slung torpedo, and lowered main landing gear with a tail wheel. Panel lines trace the wings and tall fin.
