A murmillo gladiator strides into the arena with a short gladius thrust forward and a tall curved scutum braced on his left arm. His crested helmet hides the face behind a pierced grille, a segmented manica guards the sword arm, and a strap crosses the bare muscled chest above a belted loincloth. Greaves and laced sandals finish the look. The pose reads clearly from every side, making him a strong tabletop miniature for ancient Rome skirmish games or a display piece beside other arena fighters.
