A haunted well with a crank roof makes a spooky centrepiece for any village square on the tabletop. Its round wall is built from chunky rough-cut stones, two weathered timber posts hold a pitched shingle roof, and a rope coils around the windlass down to a small wooden bucket. A turned crank handle juts from one post, while a tattered ghost sheet with a wailing face drapes over the gable, its ragged ends dripping down beside the eaves. Set it in a cursed hamlet, a graveyard edge or a seasonal Halloween display shelf.
