Forward-hooked horns curve down and up from the brow of this black wildebeest, also called the white-tailed gnu, standing with head lowered. An upright mane bristles along the neck, a long tail sweeps down behind, and tufts of hair sprout from the face and chest. The body is heavy at the shoulders and smooth across the flanks, carried on long legs with split hooves. Freestanding with no base, it suits an African grassland diorama, a biology lesson on antelope, or a wildlife display shelf.
