Field cannon with a long tapered barrel resting on a two-wheel carriage, a classic Civil War Napoleon gun. Fourteen turned spokes fill each wheel, with banded hubs, a thick axle and capped axle ends. A looped chain hangs along the cheeks and trail, with brackets, studs, small lettering and a lunette ring at the end of the straight trail. The surface is clean and richly detailed, so the barrel, rims and ironwork all read clearly. It suits a wargaming battlefield, a historical diorama or a display shelf beside other period artillery.
