A toy drum made as a hanging holiday ornament, this Christmas drum has a small cap on the top head carrying a smooth ring loop for a ribbon or hook. Twisted rope lacing zigzags around the barrel in a diamond pattern, ending in rounded knots that sit against raised rim bands at the top and bottom. The drum head is slightly recessed inside its rim, and the underside is a closed, flat head with the same rim and knots. It suits a tree, a mantel garland, a window display or a shelf of seasonal decorations.
