What this does

A 3D Print STL File is a bare pile of triangles with no units. Save it as 3MF and your slicer knows it is in millimetres; save it as OBJ and Blender or any other 3D program opens it. The triangles are carried across unchanged and the report says exactly what went in and what came out.

How it works

Why 3MF
A 3MF states its units and can hold several objects, so the slicer does not guess the scale.
Why OBJ
Almost every 3D program reads OBJ. It holds the same triangles, with no units.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. Nothing is uploaded. Your file is read in your browser and never leaves your computer. There is no upload step, no server copy and nothing kept afterwards, which is also why it works with the network switched off once the page has loaded.

How large a file can I use?

Up to 250 MB. The limit is your browser's memory rather than an upload size, because the file never goes anywhere; a file larger than that is refused with a message rather than crashing the tab.
