Short-eared owl perched on a gnarled branch snag, sculpted with layered overlapping feathers across the breast, folded wings and a fanned tail. The round facial disc holds two large eyes above a small hooked beak, and the head turns slightly to one side. Both feet grip the knotty branch with curved talons, and the bark shows stubs, knots and rough texture along its length. The branch ends in a flat cut. A natural fit for a display shelf, a bird-themed collection, or a classroom looking at owls and how they perch.
