Bird egg cutaway that opens the shell lengthwise to show what sits inside. A round yolk is suspended at the centre by twisted, rope-like chalazae on either side. Rippled layers of albumen surround the yolk, a thin shell membrane lines the inner wall, and the air cell sits at the broad end. The smooth shell rim frames the whole cross section cleanly. It is a clear teaching model for biology lessons on reproduction and embryo development, a homeschool science aid, or a curious display for poultry keepers.
