Shape

Diameter for round, side for square, length for the others, across flats for a polygon.

Used by rectangle, rounded rectangle and oval only.

How much narrower the bottom is on each side. Negative flares the bottom out.

Measured flat across, at every height.

Three small feet so water can leave the drain holes.

Raised ribs round the outside. The inside stays smooth.

What this does

Choose one of six outlines and type its size, height, taper and wall. Add drain holes, feet or raised flutes, and a tray that is the pot bottom grown by a gap so the two always match. Type the plastic nursery pot you want it to hold and the page checks it fits inside with room to spare, and shows it as an outline.

How it works

About the formats

The wall
The inside is an exact inset of the outside at every height, so the wall is the thickness you typed, measured flat across.
The tray
Its inside is the pot bottom plus the gap, and its rim height is yours to set.

Questions

Has this been print-tested?

Not by us yet. The geometry is built from the numbers you type and checked on screen, but no printed part has been fitted. Print one small test piece before a big job and adjust.

Is Planter Generator 3D Modeling Software free?

Yes. Every tool on StarForge is free, with no account, no sign-in and no limit on how many files you run through it. It runs on your own computer, so it costs us nothing to give away.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. Nothing is uploaded. Your file is read in your browser and never leaves your computer. There is no upload step, no server copy and nothing kept afterwards, which is also why it works with the network switched off once the page has loaded.

How large a file can I use?

Up to 250 MB. The limit is your browser's memory rather than an upload size, because the file never goes anywhere; a file larger than that is refused with a message rather than crashing the tab.
