USDZ Sundial Generator StarForge 3D Modeling Software
Patio Sundial Sized in Augmented Reality
Judging a sundial's size on the actual patio is easy in augmented reality, since AR Quick Look on iPhone and iPad opens USDZ, the Universal Scene Description Zip. The USDZ Sundial Generator makes that dial for a town found through OpenStreetMap place search, angling the gnomon to the latitude and placing raised hour numbers by tan(angle) = sin(latitude) x tan(15 degrees x hours from noon). StarForge 3D Modeling Software also saves a 3D Print STL File for 3D printing; pointed at true north, or true south below the equator, the dial reads true.
