STEP Scale Lumber StarForge 3D Modeling Software
Scale Boards for Railway Structure Plans
Model railway and diorama builders who plan structures in Fusion 360, SolidWorks or FreeCAD can bring boards in as STEP, the ISO 10303 exchange format, through the STEP Scale Lumber output. Each piece is a faceted mesh, not an exact parametric CAD solid, which means the wood grain stays as triangles rather than editable features. Planks, beams and planking sheets come sized from real lumber at 1:24 to 1:100 or 28 mm, never thinner than 0.8 mm. For 3D printing, StarForge 3D Modeling Software writes the boards as a 3D Print STL File too.
