A shade that needs a mounting tab, a logo or a custom rim added in Fusion 360, SolidWorks or FreeCAD can travel as STEP, the ISO 10303 standard for CAD exchange. STEP Lamp Shade Maker writes the shade, with its E26, E27, E12 or E14 fitting ring and Fluted, Hex or Diamond holes, as a faceted mesh rather than an exact parametric CAD solid. The ring hole is 42 mm for E26/E27 and 28 mm for E12/E14, meant for a cool LED bulb. For 3D printing, StarForge 3D Modeling Software also gives a 3D Print STL File that prints ring-down with no supports.
