PLY Threaded Container StarForge 3D Modeling Software
Screw Top Jar for Tolerance Checks
Makers who scan their prints to check tolerance often work in MeshLab or CloudCompare, where PLY, the Stanford Polygon File Format, is the native mesh. The PLY Threaded Container writes the jar and cap in PLY so a scan of the printed jar can be laid over the design. It keeps a 3 mm trapezoid thread with 0.4 mm clearance and a knurled cap, at a typed inside diameter and height. StarForge 3D Modeling Software offers each part as a 3D Print STL File as well, the one to slice for 3D printing.
