PLY Sundial Generator StarForge 3D Modeling Software
Horizontal Sundial Tuned to Your Latitude
Read by MeshLab, CloudCompare and many research tools, PLY, the Stanford Polygon File Format, lets the PLY Sundial Generator help anyone measuring a dial, checking hour line placement or comparing a printed sundial with a scan of it. The dial is horizontal, tuned to a town chosen by OpenStreetMap place search, with a gnomon at that latitude and raised hour numbers along lines where tan(angle) = sin(latitude) x tan(15 degrees x hours from noon). Dial size is typed. StarForge 3D Modeling Software saves a 3D Print STL File for 3D printing.
