PLY Splitter StarForge 3D Modeling Software
Separate Objects in a Tabletop Scan
Scans from photogrammetry apps, structured light scanners and MeshLab are commonly saved as PLY, the Polygon File Format from Stanford also known as the Stanford Triangle Format, which can carry per-vertex colour. A scan of a tabletop often captures several objects plus stray specks. The PLY Splitter separates them, remeshes each part into its own 3D Print STL File and drops floating bits under 1 mm, which clears small floating debris, with nothing uploaded. StarForge 3D Modeling Software turns one busy scan into separate pieces for 3D printing.
