Legacy CAD packages that read IGES, the Initial Graphics Exchange Specification, never supported LightWave 3D files. The LWO to IGES Converter saves a LightWave Object mesh as IGES right in the browser, at no cost and with nothing uploaded. What comes out is a faceted mesh in IGES, never true parametric surfaces, so it is a shape reference rather than editable geometry. Design studios use it to hand LightWave concepts to older CAD.
