A KMZ from SketchUp or 3D Warehouse is a zip with KML and a COLLADA model inside, which most 3D programs will not open. The KMZ to OBJ Converter extracts the Zipped Google Earth Model geometry and writes Wavefront OBJ in the browser, free and without an upload. Blender, Maya and renderers can then use the building or object. Geographic placement does not carry into OBJ. For 3D printing, the same KMZ can become a 3D Print STL File in StarForge 3D Modeling Software.
