Machine shops and CAM programs such as Mastercam, along with older CAD seats, still swap parts as IGES, the Initial Graphics Exchange Specification. The IGES Shaft Coupler writes a shaft connector for them as a faceted mesh of triangles, not an exact CAD solid with true cylinders. Two shaft diameters are typed, round or D, and the bores come out 0.2 mm over size, each side with one M3 set screw and nut trap on the D flat. Rigid or Flexible Spiral is the Style choice.
