Compare FreeCAD Designs With 3D Scans

Comparing a FreeCAD or CadQuery design with a 3D scan of the printed or machined part is easiest in CloudCompare or MeshLab, which read Stanford's Polygon File Format. The BREP to PLY Converter tessellates an OpenCascade BREP and writes PLY inside the browser, free and without an upload. The nominal shape can then be aligned with scan data. Curves become flat triangles. StarForge 3D Modeling Software also turns the BREP into a 3D Print STL File for 3D printing.
