Autodesk 3D Studio's .3ds format dates from the DOS era, and its binary chunks still fill old model libraries and CD-ROM collections with vases, pots and urns. The 3DS Vase Mode Cutter reads those legacy meshes, finds the bottom footprint and the highest single outline, and cuts the shape flat at both heights with capped faces.
