3DS Flat Base Cutter StarForge 3D Modeling Software
Flatten the Bottom of Old 3DS Models
Autodesk 3D Studio, the 3DS format from the DOS-era 3D Studio, survives in old asset packs, CD-ROM model libraries and archives exported from 3ds Max, with each mesh limited to 65,535 vertices. Those vintage models often float or tilt with no planned contact area. The 3DS Flat Base Cutter reads one in the browser, finds the height where the bottom becomes a solid footprint, shows the cut for 0.1 mm adjustment and caps it with Cut Base; Repair Fix Remesh closes any open shell first. StarForge 3D Modeling Software exports the result as a 3D Print STL File for 3D printing, uploading nothing.
