A sculpted helmeted hornbill sits upright with its feet tucked in and its tail hanging straight down. The heavy casque rises from the top of the stout curved bill, and the throat is bare. Layered, finely carved feathers cover the folded wings and chest, and the long tail feathers are crossed by clear bands that run almost twice the length of the body. With its tall, slim outline, this tropical bird makes a striking piece for a display shelf, a wildlife collection or a rainforest-themed nature corner in a classroom.
