A Gouldian finch stands alert on two thin legs, its compact body rounded and smooth. Sculpted lines mark where the face, chest and belly feather zones meet. The short conical beak, round eye and folded wings are cleanly shaped, and a pointed tail angles down behind. Spread toes with small claws give it a stable stance without a base. It works well as a biology classroom model for comparing finch features and plumage regions, or as a cute accent on a display shelf.
